I’ve recently revisited skills that have trouble me in the past. Something so simple as boiling eggs. A friend gave me an 18 pack of eggs day before yesterday. They wondered (as did I) could I take care of them before they got smashed pieces or actually goo. I threw them in my bag and road around all day, actually kind of forgot about them. Looking back that may have been a mistake.
I’m sure if you google the how to boil an egg you would get the longest list ever. Let’s pretend we didn’t do that.
I was prepared to try 35 different techniques on how to boil an egg but my first attempt was perfect so why do 34 other. I’m not say its perfect, it just works for me.
I have a 1 quart cooker pit that holds about 9 eggs. I boiled it for as long as I could handle hovering over it, about 3-5 minutes. I had fuel conservation concerns that helped with my decision. Then just let them sit and they’ll cook the rest of the way just yummy. Maybe a little longer on the boil but whatevs.
Looking to upgrade my camp skills where ever I can. Tarp Olympics is coming up next. What is this you ask, just wait.
